Kung Fu Tea franchisee Paulina Nguyen loves introducing people to her family-owned company’s bubble tea, and she and her team take pride and care in every batch of boba they make.
Kung Fu Tea makes their drinks with either a honey or a brown-sugar boba, which is created from tapioca starch. They make it fresh every four hours to ensure the best possible quality.
“We cook the brown sugar boba for about 20 extra minutes,” Nguyen said. “It’s really sweet and soft, but chewy.”
Along with the tapioca-based boba, Nguyen and her staff at Kung Fu Tea offer a wide variety of toppings, such as adzuki beans, jellies, and popping bubbles, which have a thin, gel-like skin with fresh juice inside that bursts when squeezed. The tea shop offers four different kinds of tea—black, green, Oolong, and Thai—and an impressively large drink selection. “We have over 100 drinks,” Nguyen said, adding that she and her staff can make exactly the type of bubble tea each customers wants.
“Whenever I see people happy with their food or drink,” she said, “I’m so happy.”
