The Show
r
The Omaha Equestrian Foundation hosted the International Omaha April 4-7 at CHI Health Center.
This is the Midwest’s largest horse event, and is comprised of three big competitions: a $100,000 Grand Prix Jumping competition, the $100,000 InIt2WinIt Speed Jumping Series Finale, and the $50,000 Dressage Team Challenge.
rr
More than just being a competition, it is a perfect event for families. While the competitions are ticketed events, the show includes a variety of free, family-friendly activities that can introduce everyone to horse sports. The Gallery of Breeds showcases live horses from miniatures to huge Percherons,. The free arena allows people to learn more about the sports of jumping and dressage with short demonstrations and the ability to watch the professional riders warm up.
The Extras
r
Although International Omaha is known for the horse, they also have amazing food and shopping vendors for those attending. They had a market place that sold cold sandwiches and deli-related items, and they had Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ, which kept a steady business throughout the day.
All throughout CHI Health Center there were vendors selling everything from clothes to chair massages, equestrian accessories and knick knacks, and more.
rr
They had something for everybody—activities for the kids, drinks for the adults, live competition, and more.
