rLauritzen Gardens welcomes New York artist Sean Kenney as he kicks off his exhibit this Saturday, Nature Connects: Art With LEGO Bricks. This is Kenney’s third exhibit at Lauritzen, and it promises to be his best yet with many exciting new pieces varying from peacocks to dragonflies and everything in between. Enjoy this exhibit free with the price of admission.
If you are looking for something a bit more serious this weekend, check out Lizette Abraham’s exhibit Contemporary Photography at El Museo Latino. It features topics covering the status of women, the environment, and much more. The last day to check this exhibit will be Saturday, Jan. 14, with museum hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you are bored and want to check out one of Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” with jams like “He’s a Rebel” and “The Boy I’m Going to Marry,” you will find Darlene Love with the Omaha Symphony at the Holland Performing Arts Center this Saturday and Sunday.
But if your vibe is a little more electronic rock’n’roll, check out Cold Cave with Drab Majesty and Plack Blague at the Waiting Room this Sunday.
Lastly, if you want to freshen up on your Prohibition trivia, visit American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition curated by Pulitzer Prize finalist Daniel Okrent at the Durham Museum.r
