When new clients call for service for their plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical, drainage, or other systems, it’s usually an emergency. But Burton A/C, Heating, Plumbing & More President Mark Evans said they make sure clients understand their choices and feel good about the outcome, whether it’s repair, upgrade, or replacement and whether they’ve chosen good, better, or the best components available.
“We try to turn bad days into good days,” Evans said. “We get people back in their homes and give them options for what needs to be done and pricing up front so they can make an educated decision and get their life back on track.”
People tend to forget about their home systems when they’re functioning correctly, Evans said.
“But the older it gets, the more likely it is to have a breakdown,” he said.
One advantage of being a Burton customer is that the company will advise when it’s time for maintenance and replacement. This strategy avoids inconvenience, plus the investment in equipment can pay off in energy costs.
“The equipment keeps getting more and more efficient, so we’re able to offer even more energy savings when we do those replacements,” Evans said.
Evans said he’s especially proud of the customer service training the company provides to its employees.
“It really comes down to our people…people grow the business,” he said. “We make sure our people really understand the business and that it’s not their house, it’s not their money, it’s not their choice. Their job is to give the client choices and a lot of time the client doesn’t know what those are; all they really know is it needs to be fixed.”
Respecting the client and serving them with integrity are key, Evans said. It’s no wonder Burton has grown steadily over three decades and been voted Best of Omaha 15 years in a row.
