Five-time Tony Award-nominated musical Rock of Ages comes to Nebraska this weekend, telling its beloved story of a small-town girl and a city boy with a full cast of Omaha theater and music greats. Rave On Productions proudly presents this performance, including frontman Billy McGuigan, who is going blonde for his role as Stacee Jaxx, with Jesse White as Drew and Courtney Cairncross as Sherrie bringing the rock ’n’ roll romance to life. Featuring the best '80s rock anthems and power ballads, Rock of Ages and its epic score are ready to rock and roll all night at The Waiting Room. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Farofa at Holland Music Club, Friday, April 8:
Get ready for an electrifying and passionate performance from one of the best new sounds in the Brazilian and World Music scenes: Farofa brings their latest program to the Holland Club stage. The program, entitled “Brazil Beyond Samba: From Choro to Funk and Back,” includes a lineup of Brazilian jazz compositions and even a few Farofa originals. Come and enjoy the sultry sounds and beautiful talents of percussionist Felipe Fraga, bassist Isaias Elpes, guitarist JP Mourão, and violinist Luis Mascaro. Tickets are available here.

8 Printmakers & 1 Quilter, opening Saturday, April 9:
As a storyteller, each artist has ideas, feelings, and thoughts to express, and each creator has their own unique way of sharing their perspective. Roberta & Bob Rogers Gallery is proud to present a new exhibit, featuring just what it sounds like: eight brilliant print makers and one fine-art quilter. The gallery invites Omahans, and visitors, to come and take the time to read these distinctive visual stories and hear the voices of these artists through their respective chosen mediums. Some artworks are available for sale. More details on this gallery, and a list of the artists featured in this exhibition, are available here.

Nebraska Humane Society’s Easter Begg Hunt, Sunday, April 10:
Pet owners can treat their favorite four-legged friends to a spring tradition, while also giving back. Woof & Whiskers and the Nebraska Humane Society host their annual Easter Fundraiser: the Easter Begg Hunt. Puppy parents are invited to bring their dogs and a $10 cash donation to NHS this Sunday at 12:30 p.m., for a chance to collect eggs and prizes to take home. All dogs in attendance must be friendly and leashed, but dog owners are also welcome to collect eggs on behalf of their pet. Preregistration is encouraged. More details on this event, and the form to register, are available here.

Omaha Symphony: Debussy and Mozart 39 at Joslyn Art Museum, Sunday, April 10:
Omaha Symphony celebrates some of the greatest pieces in French and Spanish classical repertoire in this Sunday afternoon performance at Joslyn Art Museum. Conductor François López-Ferrer takes the podium to lead five sensational works, from opera overtures to one of Mozart’s late-great symphonies: symphony No. 39 in E flat major. Don’t miss out on the pre-concert gallery talk, in which a Joslyn curator will share the history of a selected masterpiece from the museum’s world-class collections. Tickets and more details available here.
