Friday, May 8: Do you love trivia and cats? Then we have a Friday night treat for you. Felius is hosting a Virtual Cat Trivia Fundraiser. They are requesting a minimum $5 donation to participate, with proceeds going toward cat care and vetting. The three participants with the highest scores will receive a free 60-minute cat play session once they reopen. Please read the requirements and learn more here.

 Friday, May 8: Curated by Allegra Hangen and Alex Jacobsen, A Memory Held In You: Virtual Performance is an immersive virtual installation examining how what we see, hear, and feel is woven into our remembered experiences. This series of digital events will be staged across social media platforms and Amplify Arts’ website. Find something new each week beginning May 8 through June 19, 2020. Get all the information here

Saturday, May 9: We all need to remember to take care of ourselves and our well-being right now. Let the folks at CASA for Douglas County help with Self-Care Saturday, a 30-minute yoga practice that will help calm your mind and strengthen your body. It will be led by Sara Bharwani, a Former CASA Training Coordinator and a regular practitioner of yoga. Register here while you can.

 Saturday, May 9: Omaha Performing Arts is hosting O-pa Live on the Stream every Wednesday at noon and Saturday at 6 p.m. This Saturday’s performance is from Fremont-based band Lifeline. The trio draws on influences from country, rock, and jazz music. You can watch the show and learn more about what else OPA is offering, such as digital learning opportunities and playlists, here

 Saturday, May 9: In case you missed it, the Omaha Storm Chasers are here to entertain. They are hosting a second Drive-In Fireworks Show at Werner Park. This is also a celebration of the 2020 graduating class from Papillion La Vista High School and Papillion-La Vista South High School, so show your support. Please note, food and restrooms will not be available, so plan accordingly. Find out more here

 Music News: Have you been missing heading out to the club and shaking it all off? We have great news. Former Encounter columnist, DJ, dad, and green warrior Brent Crampton has officially reactivated House of Loom's SoundCloud account, which you can find here. Treat yourself by letting the nostalgia wash over you. Speaking of nostalgia, fans of Guster who attended their show at the Holland Performing Arts Center last February can relive that night, thanks to the release of their new digital album, OMAGAH! Live with the Omaha Symphony, being released this Friday! Order here
