Nursing degrees are the backbone of the curriculum, but the college offers a full range of health care education, from 6-week certificate programs to doctoral degrees (Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Education). In addition to attracting students who have the right mindset and heartset to provide compassionate care, Nebraska Methodist College is staffed by highly qualified professors.
“We have faculty who could teach anywhere in the country,” Dr. Carlson notes. For example, “Marge Di Lorenzo wrote the textbook on phlebotomy. It’s been translated into seven different languages and is used all over the world.”
The college was founded in 1891 as a diploma program of Nebraska Methodist Hospital, and in 1985 it established degree-granting programs.
