Santa and a Solo, Thursday, Nov. 26:
While this year’s holiday celebrations may look different for most, the magic of Christmas continues at The Durham Museum. Their annual holiday kickoff event, the Tree Lighting Ceremony, is going virtual this year. The program features musical performances, a greeting from Santa Claus, and the countdown to the lighting of the area’s largest indoor Christmas Tree. You can also tune in for performances by soloist Camille Metoyer Moten and the Omaha Academy Choir from Omaha Conservatory of Music. This free virtual event occurs here at p.m. No registration required.
Magic Moves, Friday, Nov. 27 to Dec. 23:
The live performance of Santa’s Magic at Omaha Children’s Museum has a unique, “2020” spin to it this year. During the show, children help Santa’s Elf and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer discover how they can still have fun for the holidays, even when things get canceled. There will be virtual guest appearances from the Snow Queen and the big man himself, Santa Claus. After every show, children will get to write their letters to Santa and drop them off in a special North Pole mailbox. Santa’s replies will be sent back by Christmas. Find out more here.
Santa’s Magic will have multiple shows each day. It is included with museum admission but requires a timed ticket due to limited seating in each show.
