For the Artists, Now through Friday, Dec. 4:

The Populus Fund is a new regranting initiative organized by The Union for Contemporary Art in order to support innovative artist projects throughout Omaha–Lincoln metro areas. Applications are open now to visual artists who have demonstrated a commitment to their practice, are living within 75 miles of Omaha, and who have experienced financial impact due to COVID-19. The first deadline is tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 23, but there will be other opportunities. To get all the details, click here.

Museum Haunts, Friday, Oct. 23 to Friday, Oct. 30:

Haunting Halloween happenings are taking place at The Durham Museum throughout this weekend and next week. From spooky stories for the kids to adult-only trivia, they are offering a safe way for all to celebrate the season, including a drive-thru trick-or-treat event on Tuesday. This weekend is their Hallo-ween event, where children can enter the Haunted Great Hall, participate in a scavenger hunt, and receive a goodie bag and a craft to take home. Masks are required, and we’re not just talking about a costume. This event requires timed entry, so be sure to register here.

Senior (Dog) Living, Saturday, Oct. 24:

All paws on deck! Senior dogs need love, too, and we all have the opportunity to help them find it by attending the Rockin’ 4 Rescue event from Promise 4 Paws Senior Dog Sanctuary. Not only do you get the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something good, you also get to have fun. This socially distanced event includes free beer, live music, and barbecue (Dinner will be served buffet style following all CDC guidelines.) There will be a silent auction from 4-8 p.m., but you must be present at 8 p.m. to win. Get all the details you need here.

 Mmmmmmeatballs, Sunday, Oct. 25:

If you’ve finally tired of cooking from home but still don’t feel comfortable visiting a restaurant, this drive-thru food event from American Italian Heritage Society may be just the answer. Place your order as you drive through and pick it up from Il Palazzo while never having to leave your car. You can get hot-and-ready mostaccioli and meatballs for immediate inhaling or grab some of their frozen items, including pizza, for the rest of the week. Find out more here.

Event times and details may change. Check with venue or event organizer to confirm.
