Or you can simply watch the free zoocams (the jellyfish are particularly relaxing), which are available for viewing here, and if you’d like to make a donation, you can do so here.
Thursday, May 21: Omaha has its share of celebrities, but few are as excited to share that they are from Omaha, Nebraska, as Andrew Rannells. (Seriously. There are mashups.) The actor, singer, performer, and now writer is perhaps best known for originating the role of Elder Price in The Book of Mormon and playing Elijah Krantz in HBO’s Girls. Whether you’re a fan or not, be sure to watch the Digital Q&A with Andrew Rannels on Omaha Performing Arts’ Facebook or YouTube channel. The endearing entertainer is sure to provide some much needed relief from our daily stresses. Watch here.
Thursday, May 21 and Saturday, May 23: Music at Slowdown is back. Virtually, anyway. Political punk band No Thanks and Omaha legend and hip hop artist Marcy Yates (read more about him here) kick things off with a Livestream on Thursday evening. You can catch Omaha rock band Noah’s Ark Was A Spaceship and indie band Little Brazil on Saturday. Keep an eye out for upcoming shows here.
Friday, May 22: Missing that feeling of going out for Dinner & A Play? Omaha Community Playhouse and Pitch have teamed up to bring that feeling back to you. This week you can watch One Way to Mars while noshing on Dinner for Two or Pizza and a Bottle. Be sure to order ahead of time to ensure you get to enjoy your meal with the show, a 75-minute musical audio drama. Learn (and watch) more here.
Saturday, May 23: Drive-In Concerts are happening now at Falconwood Park in Bellevue. The bluesy Kris Lager Band is playing this Saturday, and you can watch ’70s-inspired PetRock play on Sunday. You will need to stay inside your vehicle the entire time. The venue will not be able to provide food or drink services, though you can bring your own snacks (no booze!). Get all the details and find out who will be playing future shows here.
