rThursday, Dec. 28: You may remember back in September we shared an event to help out Nayef Zgkurt, who suffered a life-threatening brain injury. Well, great news! He is up and running and just as caring as ever. To thank everyone for their incredible support, he’s doing what he loves–throwing a dance party because NaYEF*STILL BELIEVES. The event is happening tonight at 9 p.m. at Slowdown and it’s free. Get out and show him how happy you are he’s a part of this world. Head here to get the whole story.

Friday, Dec. 29: Nothing warms you up like getting the blood flowing with some rocking music, so get out to Brothers and beat the cold back with SERIAL’s 3^rdAnnual Holiday Show. Made up of members from several local acts, SERIAL has been playing around Omaha since the ’90s and they still know how to party harder than most. You’ll also get to hear the funnily absurd music of Kansas City’s Drop a Grand. Click here to find out more about the show, which starts at 10 p.m. so drink some Monster if you must. Just get out and keep moving.

rSaturday, Dec. 30: Let the kids get in on some New Year’s Eve fun at the Noon Year’s Eve Celebration at Durham Museum this Saturday. There will be live music from the Mesozoic Era with Dino O’Dell and the T-Rex All-Stars with special crafts and activities on hand. Make sure they wear their stomping shoes for the celebratory bubble wrap stomp and balloon drop. Learn more here.

rSaturday, Dec. 30: Get out and support local comedic talent at the Omaha Omaha Improv Festival Fundraiser at The Backline.
