A new fright has come to Omaha, and it’s from the depths of the darkness.
The Black Lagoon pop-up bar has come to Nite Owl Omaha to provide a thrilling cocktail experience. Only 26 cities in the nation will get a chance to visit the Black Lagoon this October, and Omaha is on the fright list. From Oct. 8 through Halloween night, drinks-lovers have the chance to dress up and become immersed in a gothic horror scene.
The themed menu features cocktails, such as “Nosferatu’s rise” and “Nightmare Fuel,” each with their own haunting twist. The menu also includes nonalcoholic options and themed mocktails for spirit-free fun. Their food menu is inclusive for those with dietary restrictions or allergies, having vegan and gluten free options. Guests can purchase their drink with a specialty glass to take home, such as the Griselda Mermaid Mug, “Creep-ture” Mug, or the skull-covered Mai Thai Glass.
According to blacklagoonpopup.com the experience “pays homage to the macabre and throws in a splash of goth and metal for good measure.” The macabre homage surrounds patrons as severed limbs dangle above tables, skeletons line the walls, horror movies play, and webs and moss adorn every nook and cranny of the bar.
The Nite Owl is hosting additional events to pair with the vibe of the Black Lagoon pop-up. These feature events include tarot card readings, featured DJs, drag shows, live music, and a VHS and Masa Luna night. On Oct. 7, music lovers can jam out to ’80s goth, synth, dark wave, metal, and more during the venue’s music meetup.
Whether coming to Nite Owl Omaha for a spooky sip, horror fix, or an event, the Black Lagoon pop-up in Blackstone is a necessary stop on cocktail, and mocktail, lovers’ Halloween haunt list.
