A new craze is about to hit La Vista.
Smash Park, the entertainment phenomenon that originated in Iowa, will be opening a location in La Vista later this month. The park will be open during the daytime for the whole family; the second floor flips to 21+ during the evening.
Whether you come for pickle ball, axe throwing, darts, duckpin bowling, a private karaoke room, cornhole, arcade games, shuffleboard, or more, you won’t leave disappointed. Half their activities are indoors, which is ideal for Nebraska colder months. The outdoor area features chairs, cabanas, yard games, and a bar.
Attending a soft launch opening of the park, I made sure to try as many activities as possible. As soon as you enter the venue, you are immersed into an electric energy. The entire place is quite colorful, with pop art murals, hanging pickle ball artwork, and neon signs.
The games are all incredibly fun; duckpin bowling was a favorite of mine, and each game has clear instructions as well as staff who can assist with set up and answer questions. The drinks were a definite highlight, with fun cocktails and multiple mocktails such as the cherry lime dream and virgin sangria on offer. Once you’ve played some games and need to refuel, grab a Cuban or some of their specialty fried “pickle balls. “ Their menu is inclusive for any allergies or dietary restrictions. As someone with celiacs disease, I was able to talk to enjoy a gluten-free Cuban sandwich and fries safely.
One of the special parts about Smash Park is that every space in the facility is available to rent for special occasions, office parties, family gatherings, graduation parties, Huskers watch events,, or more.
Smash Park is also a place to find community; the venue offers leagues to join and play with friends, live music, and weekly events such as trivia nights.
