Lights in the Dark, Friday, Nov. 20 through Jan. 4:
Are you ready to add a little light to your life? Then check out the Holiday Lights Festival, which kicks off this weekend in the Old Market, North Omaha, and South Omaha. With the ongoing construction of the Gene Leahy Mall and COVID-19 precautions in place, some parts of this annual community event might look a little different than usual, but the holiday spirit remains. Learn more about the festival and its upcoming events here.

Tunnel Vision, Friday, Nov. 20 through Jan. 3:
In case you can’t get enough love and light, the folks at Werner Park are bringing you Santa’s Rock N Lights. This animated drive-thru light show invites you to experience themed worlds of light, including a dinosaur world and over 700 feet of tunnels. To experience the rockin' aspect of the event, your vehicle will need an FM radio. There are a limited number of spots available, so reserve yours here now.

Local Lit, Saturday, Nov. 21:
Omaha Lit Fest and The Bookworm are celebrating six local authors who published new books in 2020 with Lit Fest After-Hours at the Bookworm. Lisa Fay Coutley, Kate Gaskin, Lydia Kang, Ilana Masad, David Philip Mullins, and Theodore Wheeler will convene in the bookstore after closing time to read from their new books. Poet and known loud speaker Todd Robinson will be the host. Read more about the authors, and save your space here.

Giving and Getting, Saturday, Nov. 21:
Next week is Small Business Saturday, but you can help do your part by attending the Small Business Saturday Pop-Up Shop x Winter Drive this week. The drive is a contact-free drive-thru style pick up due to rising COVID-19 cases. Place donated items in your trunk, pull up to the location, and they will grab the items for you. Find out more here.

Furry Photo Philanthropy, Sunday, Nov. 22:
Give yourself an early Christmas present and take your pet to the Holiday Pawtraits Fundraiser for Hands, Hearts and Paws at Beardmore Subaru in Bellevue. Get a professional photo of your pet from Best of Omaha winner for pet photography Kala Howard. (See all the winners here.) There is a cash-only $20 minimum donation, and all proceeds go to HHP. Photos will be taken inside the delivery bay area. Social distancing measures will be in place. Get all the details here.

Event times and details may change. Check with venue or event organizer to confirm.
