Outside Mullingar at Omaha Community Playhouse, opening Thursday, Feb. 17: Omaha Community Playhouse presents: Outside Mullingar, a beloved Irish romantic comedy. This love story follows Anthony and Rosemary, who grow up on neighboring farms in a rural countryside of Ireland. At age 6, Rosemary secretly falls in love with Anthony. After a bout with heartbreak, Anthony swears off love forever. The show centers on the middle-aged pair, as they find their way back to each other amid adult stresses and a family property dispute. Whitney Cummings: Touch Me Tour, Friday, Feb. 18: After so many months of isolation, Whitney Cummings gives her take on multiple meanings of touching in this live spinoff of her Netflix special, “Can I Touch It?” Best known for starring in the NBC series Whitney, and for her work on 2 Broke Girls, Cummings has been Emmy-nominated and honored with several stand-alone comedy specials on Comedy Central, Netflix, and HBO. Tangier Shrine Circus 2022, Friday Feb. 18 to Sunday, Feb. 20: The Tangier Shrine Circus has revamped its show for 2022, with fresh talent and shows for Nebraska and Iowa supporters to enjoy. This year’s show at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs will feature a new producer, new ringmaster, freshly perfected acts, and a whole new Circus Fun Fair format. The Music of Fleetwood Mac by Omaha Symphony, Saturday, Feb. 19: Experience some of the top hits from ’70s rock ’n’ roll icons Fleetwood Mac like never before—in full symphony arrangements. The Omaha Symphony is teaming up with Fleetwood Mac tribute band Landslide to bring a full production of Stevie Nicks-style magic to the Holland Performing Arts Center stage. Concert-goers can sing along with favorites such as “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Gypsy,” and more, while the symphony reinvents each classic with a new arrangement. 2021 Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, Sunday, Feb. 20: For the second year in a row, the OEAAs are going virtual. The 16th Annual OEAAs, taking place this Sunday at 6 p.m. on Facebook Live and YouTube, will be free to view, with donations encouraged to help cover production expenses. Hosts Maria Corpuz and Aly Peeler will announce the winners of a variety of awards, including lifetime achievement recognition, cultural stewardship honors, and trophies for more than 50 categories.
