The area’s largest locally owned credit union, Cobalt Credit Union, focuses on member service over profit, said CEO Robin Larsen, and that applies to every personal—and virtual—interaction.
“We have the best technology out there with our new home banking system that we went live with (last year) in order to be relevant, and for people to feel secure with their online account information,” she said. “It has increased the value to our members.”
The Cobalt team is also mindful of how the economy is affecting individuals, Larsen added, which is reflected in its services.
“The right thing to do is continue to offer competitive rates and fewer fees,” she said. “And financial literacy is huge right now…We have financial literacy counselors, employees that have raised their hand to help people, and they walk people through a six-week program.”
Additionally, Cobalt strives to be a good corporate citizen, Larsen said. “We really are excited to be in the Lincoln area.”
