Meghan Hungerford, DDS, said she loves the moment when a cosmetic dentistry patient sees themselves in the mirror for the first time after the crowns, veneers, or implants are in place and the transformation is complete.
“For people who hid their smile when they laughed, their world changes…lots of joy,” she said. “That’s the fun part of dentistry for me.”
Attention to detail creates a smile that looks great but also fits the patient’s face, Hungerford said.
“We are staining and glazing and customizing while the patient’s in the chair to make everything as beautiful and naturally aesthetic as possible,” she explained.
Hungerford practices general dentistry for patients of all ages in addition to cosmetic dentistry. She embraces new technologies for both, such as 3-D scanning to replace uncomfortable dental impressions and laser whitening that gives patients fast results with reduced sensitivity compared to older methods. She also provides facial aesthetic services, such as laser treatments and microneedling, that enhance a patient’s appearance one step further.
“I think that’s what separates me,” she said.
