Eagle Day at Fontenelle Forest

Join us in an afternoon of family-friendly activities and education to celebrate Eagles!

Join us as we feature a program about the eagles of the Midwest. Our featured guest and raptor expert, Kay Newman, Executive Director of S.O.A.R., will speak about the effects of lead poisoning on the eagle populations in the Midwest. Learn what you can do to help keep these majestic creatures safe and healthy. There will be an artifact table with educational information and eagle artifacts. We will also have an educational bald eagle in the Nature Center for visitors to meet and photograph. Don’t forget your camera for photo ops with the eagle mascot! Participants can also visit our resident bald eagles in the Raptor Woodland Refuge, where we will also have an expert available to answer all your raptor-related questions. For the kids, there will be a raptor scavenger hunt featuring eagle-themed prizes! After the scavenger hunt, cookies and punch will be available. This event is $5 for members and $15 for non-members. Members must sign in to receive discount. Register today via the link below: https://8913.blackbaudhosting.com/8913/Eagle-Day-14Aug2021
