Thursday, April 18:

rArtSlam19 at Bancroft Street Market happens tonight. A collaboration between the market and UNO volunteer support group Friends of Art, the reception starts at 5:30 p.m., with the artist talks starting at 6:30. Proceeds from admissions and raffle tickets sales support scholarships for UNO Art and Art History students. You may also purchase art made by the ArtSlam19 artists directly, with the artist receiving the full amount of that sale. Friday, April 18:

rYou know it's that time, so get your ducks in a row (and by "ducks" I mean plants). Don't know where to start? The folks at The Big Garden are here to help, with their big Spring Plant Sale, happening now through next month (ending May 18). Know what's even better than finding reasonably priced plants to fill your yard? Filling the pockets of an organization committed to providing garden education programs in the Omaha-metro area, encouraging people, including you, to grow their own food. Proceeds from the sale will support school-based and childcare-based garden classes in low-income areas of Omaha. rSure, rock shows can be fun. But don't underestimate the country scene. Lucas Minor is taking over The Hop Yard in Plattsmouth this Friday. What better way to unwind after a long week—and kick off a family-filled weekend—than with a little down-home music and some good beer? Saturday, April 20:

rLooking for something for the whole family to do? Or maybe you just need a little motivation to get out and into nature this weekend? Fontenelle Forest has you covered with their Land Stewardship Volunteer Work Day. The crew meets on selected Saturdays mornings to work on various projects and lunch is provided. Sunday, April 20: 

rStrategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum is holding a Spring Fling with fun for the entire family. Things get hopping (sorry, I couldn't help myself) with an egg hunt at 10 a.m. There will also be plenty of hands-on indoor activities to keep the bunnies happy, including a coloring contest raffle for the artistically inclined. And of course, there's also the option to have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny before their big day. Find out more here.
