rArtSlam19 at Bancroft Street Market happens tonight. A collaboration between the market and UNO volunteer support group Friends of Art, the reception starts at 5:30 p.m., with the artist talks starting at 6:30. Proceeds from admissions and raffle tickets sales support scholarships for UNO Art and Art History students. You may also purchase art made by the ArtSlam19 artists directly, with the artist receiving the full amount of that sale. Filling the pockets of an organization committed to providing garden education programs in the Omaha-metro area, encouraging people, including you, to grow their own food. Proceeds from the sale will support school-based and childcare-based garden classes in low-income areas of Omaha. rStrategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum is holding a Spring Fling with fun for the entire family. Things get hopping (sorry, I couldn't help myself) with an egg hunt at 10 a.m. There will also be plenty of hands-on indoor activities to keep the bunnies happy, including a coloring contest raffle for the artistically inclined.
