Fusing garage-rock grit with the cultural influence of their upbringing, The Red Pears deliver a sound that’s authentically their own—and they’re here to prove it.
The indie-rock trio is set to take over Omaha’s Reverb Lounge on Oct.12 in support of their fourth album, Better Late Than Never. From humble garage sessions to commanding festival stages like Coachella, Henry Vargas (vocals/guitar), Jose Corona (drums), and Patrick Juarez (bass) are now on their biggest headlining tour to date.
The trio’s musical influences are clear—fans of indie-rock heavyweights like The Strokes and The White Stripes will feel right at home with The Red Pears’ sound. But don’t mistake them for copycats. The Red Pears have carved out their own lane with their emotionally raw lyrics and dynamic instrumentals.
The new album, released in April 2024, signified The Red Pears' long-awaited comeback. The release coincided with a performance at Coachella that garnered praise from major outlets, including The Los Angeles Times, LA Daily News, and Coachella Valley Weekly, who named them among the "Best of Coachella."
Vargas, Corona, and Juarez have made a name for themselves by capturing the essence of early 2000s indie rock with the lively Latin sounds of their childhoods in El Monte, California. Recorded in the familiar setting of Corona’s family garage, Better Late Than Never blends the band’s high school beginnings with their newfound maturity.
“The title itself sets the tone for the album because it's a collection of our evolution,” Vargas shared. “It represents the lifespan of us working together over the last decade, from before we were even formally a band, to the people, musicians, and band we are now.”
The anthemic single "Didn't Realize," which was named a "Song You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone, marked the release of the LP. Tracks like "The Way You Talk," “Once Together,” and "Tired" add to the album’s emotional depth and melodic richness.
This concert is sure to leave an impression on concertgoers—from longtime fans to those new to their sound.
