For those in the foster care system, homelessness remains an overarching threat, especially for those who age out of the foster care system at 19, the age Nebraska considers them an adult.
With the help of Heartland Family Services, former foster child Brittany Campbell, now 22, was able to move out of the women’s shelter she was staying at earlier this summer.
