When insurance industry veteran Jack Struyk opened Lockton Companies’ Omaha office in 2011, it was important for businesses to have coverage in case of events like hailstorms and floods. But even then he could see that cyber liability insurance was a growing priority as companies increasingly faced data breaches, malware infection, and other tech-related security issues. 

“About a year into it, I said, ‘We’re going to need to hire some people,’” Struyk explained. “Then, maybe five to 10 percent of our clients were buying cyber liability coverage. Now it’s probably 90 percent.”

Locally, the team remains forward-focused, with Struyk nearing retirement and transitioning more day-to-day leadership functions to Vice President/Producer Kirt McAlpine and Vice President/Producer Cody Beguin. After all, Struyk said, “We all have to plan for the future.”
