Mogwai at Waiting Room Lounge, Thursday, April 14:
Scottish post-rock band Mogwai is touring to promote their latest album, “As the Love Continues.” The group are known for their heavy guitar instrumental pieces, melodic bass lines, and substantial use of distortion and effects. All of those elements will be found in this show at Waiting Room Lounge this evening, where Mogwai will be joined by singer-songwriter Nina Nastasia. Tickets to the show are available here.

"The Giver" at Omaha Community Playhouse, opening Friday, April 15:
Based on the Newbery Award-winning book by Lois Lowry, Omaha Community Playhouse presents "The Giver," a play adapted by Eric Coble. The show tells the story of 12-year-old Jonas, who lives in a utopian society and is chosen by the society’s “Giver” to bear the memories of society and learn the truth behind their perfect world. Theater-goers will discover whether Jonas will fall in line or risk everything to forge a new path in the stage version of this classic novel. The performance features theatrical haze, strobe lighting effects, and images of war. Sensory-friendly performances will take place on April 16 and April 29. Purchase tickets here. 

Chelsea Handler: Vaccinated and Horny, Saturday, April 16:
This comedian, television host, best-selling author, and advocate is one of today’s most notable voices in entertainment. After a strong seven-year run as the host of E!’s top-rated Chelsea Lately, a tenure in which Handler was the only female late-night talk show host on-air, she launched her documentary series "Chelsea Does," followed by her talk show Chelsea on Netflix in 2016. Now, she’s bringing the humor and candor nationwide on her comedy tour. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Jurassic Quest, Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17:
The Jurrasic Age returns at CHI Health Center this weekend. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and dig for fossils, play on inflatables, learn from a fossil science exhibit, and marvel at a herd of life-size animatronic dinosaurs. This tour’s herd includes Apatosaurus, Spinosaurus, T. rex, and an incredible 50-foot megalodon. Trainers will also present an interactive raptor show. Get tickets to this experience here.
