Junkstock is Back!

Junkstock at Sycamore Farms, Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2:
Come celebrate 10 years of Junkstock, the premier junk, music, and food festival of the Midwest. Shop the wares of 200-plus makers, antique dealers, and junk aficionados right here in Omaha. This year’s Junkstock will also include more than 20 food vendors, bringing snacks of all origins, as well as dessert trucks, coffee carts, and more. General admission is $10–get your tickets here.

City Nature Challenge, Friday, April 30 through Monday, May 3:
This weekend is your chance to get a little more familiar with the plants and animals that live among us in Omaha. Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium unites with nature lovers across the city to help educate all of us about how our lives impact Omaha’s ecosystem. The City Nature Challenge is an annual community science competition to document the biodiversity of our urban societies. You can find the local project at iNaturalist under the project name “City Nature Challenge 2021: Omaha Metro Area.” Head to their site to sign up and help document the organisms you can see here.

Blossom + Woodstock at Benson Wood Forest, Saturday, May 1:
Gather this weekend at Benson Wood Forest for a Saturday of nature education. Blossom and Wood is hosting the first annual Blossom & WoodSTOCK. They’ll start the day by planting a tree with a land blessing for the forest, and the rest of the event will include DIY dandelion snacks, guided meditation, nature crafts, and even more planting. Canaan Cox at Barnato Lounge, Saturday, May 1:
JSP Productions presents Nashville’s most exciting new country star, Canaan Cox. He’ll be making his debut at Barnato Lounge this Saturday at 8 p.m. with a headlining show, followed by a DJ set with James Kennedy from Vanderpump Rules. Tickets start at $15, and for a $10 (night of show) cover, join in on the afterparty with DJ James. Professional Bull Riders’ ‘Unleash the Beast’, Saturday, May 1 through Sunday, May 2:
For the first time in 12 years, PBR’s Top 40 bull riders will be riding their way back to Omaha for the PBR Omaha Invitational at CHI Health Center this weekend. See the best of both the human and bovine athletes in two evenings of duels, 8 seconds at a time. This showcase comes on the heels of one of PBR’s most exciting seasons yet, and tickets are still available here.
