Steampunk Interactions, Thursday, Sept. 24 to Saturday, Sept. 26:

Would you like to be face-to-face with a motley cast of would-be murderers? No, not real murderers, but rather highly detailed 3D avatars. Miranda: A Steam Punk VR Experience is offering you that unique opportunity thanks to Opera Omaha, LUMA, and Tri Cities Opera. The story and score is by groundbreaking composer Kamala Sankaram. Miranda will transport you to a dystopian future where growing class disparities have reached epic proportions and our criminal justice system serves only as a parody of what it once was. While we missed the opportunity to sign up for the full interactive experience, you still have the opportunity to view this first-of-its-kind performance. Read more here

Play Time, Friday, Sept. 25 to Sunday Oct. 18:

Omaha Community Playhouse is welcoming you back inside, with open, socially distanced arms. Grounded is an intense, intimate play, in which a solo performer portrays an ace fighter pilot who finds herself grounded when an unexpected pregnancy cuts her career in the sky short. Demoted to flying drones over Afghanistan,  the lines between the desert where she lives in Nevada and the desert where she hunts high-profile terrorists begins to blur. Get your tickets here.

Music on the Green, Friday, Sept. 25 to Saturday, Sept. 26:

The Holland Center is taking it to the green. Holland Center Outdoors will take place on the green lawn next to the Holland Center, offering two days of free concerts. On Friday, you can watch The Swon Brothers with Sack of Lions and Bassel & The Supernaturals. On Saturday, settle in for a full day of family fun, ending the evening with a show from Bassel & The Supernaturals and Mesonjixx. (You can read more about her here.) Get all the details here

Live, Local, and Out of Texas, Friday, Sept. 25 to Saturday, Sept. 26:

The MAHA Summer Concert Series at Slowdown is almost over, but you can still catch a couple shows this weekend. Friday night is Kolby Cooper with Pecos & the Rooftops. And on Saturday, fans of Lincolnite Andrea von Kampen (pictured) will finally be able to see the folk singer in person, with Matt Cox. (This show was previously scheduled for Aug. 8 and Oct. 24.) Find out more here.

Destino at Home, Saturday, Sept. 26:

For everyone’s safety, the 2020 Destino Dinner is all-virtual this year. Virtual Destino is the Latino Center of the Midlands’ largest fundraiser of the year. The 45-minute program will include education, dancing, and cocktails (at home). There will be multiple client and staff interviews highlighting the impact the organization has on Omaha's Latino community. Be sure to purchase your tickets beforehand here, and don’t forget about the silent auction.

Event times and details may change. Check with venue or event organizer to confirm.
