Omaha Fashion Week, Aug. 27 to Aug. 29:

OFW will look a little different this year, and not just because of styles changing. (Though masks are the newest fashion accessory.) With a mix of live and digital shows, this event strikes a balance between discord and harmony.  Appropriately, as this season's designer collections feature strong juxtaposed themes of creation and destruction, order and chaos, nature and civilization. Friday Night Sets, Aug. 28:

Turn up your Friday evenings by heading to Midtown Crossing, where you can enjoy live music while dining al fresco. Pick up your favorite takeout and head to Farnam Court for pop-up performances from regular opener Joe Reynolds and this week’s featured performer Aly Peeler. Uplift + Elevate Show, Aug. 29:

The Union’s new evolving exhibition series Uplift + Elevate. Each month, they celebrate the work of local and regional contemporary artists of the African diaspora, including poets, photographers, painters, musicians, and more. This Saturday you can attend a virtual concert featuring Ria Gold, J. Crum, and Kiwi of Bound as their August tenure comes to a close. Wags & Wheels Car Show, Aug. 30:

The third annual Wags & Wheels Car Show is on. The fundraiser takes place from noon to 4 p.m., and is limited to 75 vehicles to encourage social distancing. Besides the sweet rides, there will be music from Radio Pilot, food and drink specials, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and adoptable animals. If you can’t show your support at this event, don’t despair. Register to attend their Virtual Gala "2020 Vision" (formerly known as The Derby), happening on Sept. 18. Find out more about the car show here, and read more about the gala here.
