Providing customized solutions sets Kidwell Inc. apart from its competitors, says Katie Koester, director of technology.

“Many people can sell you a phone system, but we want to understand what you do so we can supply a product that meets your business needs,” Koester remarks. “For example, if some of your employees work remotely, Kidwell offers a smartphone app that lets them check their voice mail, communicate with customers, and participate in conferences just as if they were in the office.” 

In addition, Koester explains, Kidwell is able to provide integrated solutions by leveraging its five divisions: special systems, phone systems, IT solutions, premise cabling, and commercial electrical. 

“We have certified specialists in each division,” Koester notes. “So while my phone team may understand the network, I actually have a network engineer who comes in and does all of the work and then hands it off to my phone team.”

Founded by Don Kidwell in 1948 and purchased by Don’s son, Chris, in 1973, Kidwell has 220 employees in three locations: Lincoln, Omaha, and Kearney.
