Montessori is a child-centered educational approach. There are lower teacher to student ratios, and the school offers a wide variety of additional daily learning experiences such as Spanish, yoga, art, and nature-certified outdoor classrooms.

“Our teachers encourage and respect independence in children,” explains owner Julie Roy. “Everything is child-led and we view children’s play as their work—we respect their natural curiosity.”

The teachers act as liaisons between the learning materials and the children, who are able to progress both academically and socially at their own pace. The children also enjoy plenty of physical activity, using kinesthetic learning methods with a consistent focus on order, concentration, coordination and independence.

The Montessori system prepares children to become confident, motivated learners and good citizens. Montessori children are able to problem-solve and think critically, and are also taught soft skills such as appropriate social and emotional interactions—skills that are vital to their future success as adults.

Roy currently owns nine Montessori schools in Omaha and her goal is to reach 1000 children a year through her passion of the Montessori method of teaching.
