TOP SPOT OF THE WEEKEND: The “Taylor Made Rescue Rally” is one of the Nebraska Humane Society’s top annual events. Attendees will get a chance to talk with local rescue groups, receive advice from animal experts, and even adopt a new family member. The festivities kick off Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you are looking for a little nature to nurture your soul, consider attending Yegizaw “Yeggy” Michael’s exhibit Whispering in Color at Fontenelle Forest. The exhibition is free to members and included with the price of admission.

If you are looking to indulge in some guilty pleasures this weekend, check out the “Chocolate and Wine Experience” at The Omaha Bakery. Sip some wines while ingesting an array of decadent desserts. This is a two-day event, Friday and Saturday, giving you little excuse not to attend.

For you music buffs, the Tribal Seeds will be fertilizing the crowd with their smooth reggae tunes at the Waiting Room Saturday. You may be familiar with Tribal Seeds because of the band’s multiple spots at the top of the charts, or possibly from sharing the stage with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Skrillex, MGMT, and a couple of Marleys. Yes, those Marleys.

Depending on how much you plan on drinking this weekend, the perfect pick me up is Food & Spirits Magazine’s second annual Doughnut Shootout. This event will start Sunday at the Waiting Room and attendees will move on to Krug Park and Reverb Lounge. Bakeries from across the metro will be making the best doughnuts possible to win voters’ hearts.
